But without spoiling the book I felt that some of the storylines were a bit unrealistic and we don’t see much of ths pants in this book. It was just all the rest that upset me. This is an important time in their life and they are anxious for their futures. The storyline that I enjoyed the most was Carmen’s mothers.
Why am I crying. While taking Valia to the hospital one day, Carmen meets a guy named Win Sawyer, girlls college student who volunteers at the hospital.
Tibby struggles with a couple of things. Readers will laugh as tough Carmen faces off with a police officer who stops her on her dummer to the hospital, and be touched when Lena draws a portrait of her recently widowed grandmother. I enjoyed this book as much as the first two, although I did have a few issues with it. Love-wise, poor Lena has been through the wringer. Her fear has been to let herself admit to sidterhood feelings, and as a result, she cannot be the loving person she wants to be.
I was very, very proud of Bee for not having sex with the guy, though. But with that sweet ending, glrls looks like it’ll stay just as amazing. Lena did crazy big character development with her family, and in part with herself though not as much as Carmen. Brian and Tibby are in love, but Tibby is afraid they will lose their friendship. This is just a law suit waiting to happen. Most of the time I wanted to tell her to shut up and stop acting like a brat. She regrets the way she acted when they first met and wants to respect the fact that he has a girlfriend this time. At first she refuses to think of him as anything but a friend, but eventually discovers that she, too has developed feelings for him.
This book takes place during the summer after their senior year of high school, and I actually got choked up when I read the second sentence in this section: The characters were developed to a degree where they felt like long, lost friends.
